COMPARING SOME EUROPEAN EDUCATIONAL SYSTEMS

By reviewing the results of the PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) - studies there are differences in the contents of what students are learning in European schools.

It is the objective to evaluate the knowledge and skills in mathematics after a period of ten years of school education and to compare the results of the participating schools on an international basis.

Therefore, initially, the pupils will have to do an assessment concerning the mathematics contents, and on the basis of this assessment they have to create a test that has to be done by the pupils of their own school as well as of the partner school. After the correction, implemented by the participating pupils, the results will be evaluated, then compared in an international workshop and subsequently published in a final document.
